Home of many wonders. Including this personal tableau. Love all the tchotchkes. And this rock on a rack in the shady vestpocket park at the corner of Lionel-Groulx and Rose-de-Lima.

I’ve run across a lot of these personal tableaux in my travels, or what would you call them? Altars? Crèches? This one is huddled under the stairs on Jeanne Mance is one of my favourites.
This week, with the death of Montreal son Leonard Cohen, I felt obliged to pay homage with everyone else at his home near the corner of Marie-Anne and St. Dominique. This is what I found there. Even five days on, lots of people still milling around his doorway and the Parc du Portugal across the street. The readjusted street sign choked me up. Marie-Anne has other, quieter attractions. Note this guard outside a private home. |
