I took a wrong turn on my walk, luckily, and stumbled across the beautiful Maisonneuve Market on Ontario E. near Pie IX.
My new favourite self-serve library. On avenue des Mélèzes, off Viau. What a labour of love! Real little glass windows on the sides to see what books are on offer.
I’m a sucker for giant animals and haven’t seen one since my moose spotting last July, so I was happy to run across this one on Mount Royal, formally dressed yet.
Excellent tree house in the park at the corner of Chabot and Mount Royal. But there's no way to get up or down. The ladder stops dead way off the ground-a tree house for unsociable people.

This style of recycling bin, which I see a lot around the Olympic Stadium area, always reminds me of R2D2.
Saw below carved in the stone in a renovated condo development on Waverly, or maybe it was St. Urbain. At any rate-near Jean Talon market. Maybe it's an homage to my father who was a watchmaker. He would have liked this. I'm glad the condo people left it there. That's him below in his office at 231 The Old Arcade. Phone number-Cherry 1-7465.
A birthday (or anniversary) like this calls for a roundup of sorts. Some of my favourites of the last two years walking. I'll have to think up a citation title-maybe the Phillies. Best recycled Bicycle art |
