My first sighting of yarn bombing around town since I started my project. On Pierce Street downtown. I'm a big fan of the hobby? sport? crime? Whatever. This is a modest effort, but I hope to find more.
OK, so I wasn’t planning on writing about alleyways - only named streets, but I had to make an exception after yesterday when I stumbled across the project Les Ruelles du Centre-Ville. For one week in July, from July 26 through July 30th, the city is transforming 10 different alleyways in town from frowsy to funky. They add live music, tea, lawn chairs, and individual tubs of water for weary office workers or tourists to soak their feet. It’s enchanting. The one I came across was off of Mansfield between René Lévesque and Saint-Catherine.
More info from an article in Métro OK, so what are they? Bike racks? Exercise bikes? Art installation? Can't figure it out. At Marché Jean Talon.
Heard skittering in the gutter this morning and called the wildlife removal guy. Maybe it was something other than wildlife and instead I should have called here. I passed it in my walk today.
This tipsy plant proves that I made it all the way to the Botanical Gardens. Mind you I only started from the Mount Royal metro station and went straight along Rachel the whole way. It took me an hour and I used up only 13,000 steps, but who's counting?
By my reckoning, using the very accurate measuring device of the length of my thumb from the tip to the first knuckle, I have covered 113 km so far. I was disappointed by the distance. I thought I had covered more. Maybe I should use a different finger?
